Should i take microbiology and anatomy

Jules A, MSN. Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner. Depending on your school's admission process I'd consider it. We really needed as close to a 4. I took them separately, got As, but was also working full time. Don't know if I would have risked doing them together unless it was the difference in being able to apply for the next entrance deadline. FWIW they didn't have much to do with each other, imvho. Good luck. It was hard but I came out on top. I was super close to a "B" but I needed a 82 on the final and got a It definelty can be done with some committment.

Specializes in medical, telemetry, IMC. Has 6 years experience. If you're going to pick two classes to take together, I'd take anatomy and physiology. It makes sense to study form and function together. Micro can be taken without either an make sense.

Screen name. I just like it more, so I study it more. I'm also taking 18 hours all together because I start nursing classes this summer Specializes in Emergency Department. Has 6 years experience. I would be cautious about taking anatomy and physiology with microbiology in the same semester. It is not that it is impossible, you just have to remain organized when you do it. The major part of microbiology is going to be memorization of things, like names of structures and the like.

With anatomy and physiology, you also have to do a lot of memorization as well, but the bulk of it is going to be remembering structure names and what they do. With medical terminology, it can be like learning a foreign language, and does involve some memorization. Depending upon the exact course load and what you're exposed to in those courses, you could potentially learn medical terminology along the way and have a relatively easy time of it. Most likely, I did not go to the same school you did, but I would suspect that the general process is the same regardless of which school you go to.

In my case, I found microbiology to be very enjoyable but I did take it separately. At the school that I took microbiology, it was approximately a 5 unit per semester course. Above all, I would simply caution you to know your limits because anatomy and physiology with microbiology can be very difficult if you aren't able to stay organized in your studying.

Stay very organized! I am an A student but micro almost broke me! I had a very tough professor and he wanted us to take an outside interest to the subject. I struggled until the end. My advisor was pushing for me to take both together but at the last minute I chickened out. I believe you can do it as long as you are disciplined enough! Keep strong Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology.

Have a good year at Lane Community College. Claudia Riumallo. Academic Advisor. Ted Calcaterra. Gerald Meenaghan. Cooperative Education Coordinator.
