Should i refuse to sign a write up
Did they know that she didn't tell you that? I once had an annual review that I felt was inaccurate, so I refused to sign it. My manager said, "Well then I have to bring MY manager in. But really I was terrified - first corporate job at 22 years old. I told his manager the parts that I thought were inaccurate. She agreed to alter the review and write in information that I thought was pertinent.
I'm sure his negative reviews had something to do with it. I was the only one that survived and it's because I stood up for myself. Just some food for thought. Refusing to sign an acknowledgement is probably insubordination, so you would not be pushed out, you would be choosing to go. Do not be insubordinate. Follow your company's policies when it comes to disciplinary action you disagree with.
Document your concerns about your boss. Go through the proper chain of command, in the proper order, to try to resolve them. In the meantime, start bidding internally and externally on new positions.

According to the Court in the Paratransit case, the answer could be yes. Craig Medeiros, the employee who was fired, was a union member. His negotiated union contract required his employer to obtain the signature of the employee being issued a disciplinary notice. The notices, however, must include a disclaimer that states that the employee is only acknowledging receipt of the document.
The employer received a customer complaint that Craig Medeiros was rude. In turn, he was issued a disciplinary notice. Craig Medeiros denied being rude to the customer and refused to sign the disciplinary notice because he feared it would be deemed an admission of guilt.
He was told that he will be fired if he did not sign. He refused to sign the disciplinary notice and true to their threat, the employer terminated his employment as a result of his refusal. Unfortunately, by not signing the write up or bad evaluation, you may actually be giving your employer cause, meaning a reason, to terminate you.
Not following an instruction of your employer can be considered insubordination, and insubordination is grounds for termination. This sounds crazy, right? When you sign a write up, or even an annual evaluation you disagree with, you are only signing to acknowledge that you received the document. Many employers feel more comfortable by having a policy, for example, of immediate termination after three write ups. Even though this is their own policy, they feel more justified in these seemingly objective standard for bringing down the axe.
